About Us

Ambient Support is a large charity.

It has lots of services all around the country.

Ambient provides care and support for lots of different people, with different care and support needs.

We support:

Older people
People with learning disabilities
People with mental health needs

The support and care we provide is person centred.

Person centred support means treating everyone as an individual.

It means making sure that we work with people to find out what support is right for them.

We try to help people lead independent and happy lives in their communities.

We try to support people to do the things that they want to do.

Our staff are very special people.

They are trained to support people with all kinds of needs.

In 2020 we asked people with a learning disability about the support they receive from us.

Nearly everyone who responded said they were very happy with the support our staff give them.

How We Support You

Ambient provides support to people with different types of needs.

The care we provide is always person centred.

Person centred support means treating everyone as an individual.

Ambient can support people in lots of different places including:

Shared housing
Care Homes
Out in the community
At day services
In their own home

We try to support people so they can do the things that make them happy.

We support people so they can get involved with their community.

We support people so they can become more independent.

Our staff are very special people.

They are trained to support people in a way that is right for them.

Ambient staff make sure you are involved in making decisions about how you receive your care and support, and who you receive it from.

We may also ask people in your circle of support, including family and other health professionals, about the best way for you to receive support.

We will always focus on your strengths and do our best to provide you with choice.

Making a Complaint

A complaint is something that makes you feel unhappy.

You can make a complaint if:

You feel angry or sad about something.
Something is happening that you are not happy with.
If someone hurts or upsets you.

Feedback is about telling people the good things that happen.

It is good to let people know when things are going well.

If you want to make a complaint or feedback to Ambient you can:

Talk to someone
Send a letter or an email
Fill out a form
Draw a picture
Telephone someone

You can tell people about your feedback or complaint. You could talk to:

A family member or friend
A staff member from Ambient, the Team Leader or Manager
A Quality Checker

We will always listen to you and deal with any complaints you have.

Personal Budgeting

Individual Service Funds (ISF)

An ISF means choosing someone to help you with your money

They can organise the services and support that you want and need.

They are available to people aged 18+ that have a learning disability.

We can help you to understand Individual Service Funds (ISF) and how to use one.

We help to make sure you get your money.

We help you pay your rent and bills.

We help you buy the things you really want and need.

Using an ISF means you don’t have to worry about your money.

We will work together on your personal budget.

You will always be involved in making decisions with us.

We will respect your needs and wishes about your money.

We can help you to set up a bank account.

Using an ISF can mean more independence and self-confidence.

It can mean better daily living skills, self-care and physical wellbeing.

It can allow more community engagement.

It can help you take control of your options in life.
