Ambient Support joins the Amazon Smile programme

Ambient has recently joined the Amazon Smile programme that sees the online retailer donate 0.5% of eligible (net) purchase values to the charity if people choose Ambient as their nominated cause.

Davina Sellick, Director of Sales, Marketing & Communications said: “This is the first time we have participated in a programme such as this and its genuinely exciting to think that people will be able to make a difference to the lives of others whilst doing their regular online shopping.”

Amazon Smile is a website that is operated by Amazon, that lets customers enjoy the same wide selection of products as the regular Amazon site, the difference being that customers are asked to choose a charity to receive a donation each time an eligible purchase is made. On a regular basis, donations will be sent through to Ambient to use as they see fit.

Davina continued: “In truth, we have no real idea how much in donations this might generate, but what we do know is that whatever funds are raised will be used to help bring smiles to the faces of the people that Ambient support.

We want to encourage staff, supporters, families and the wider public to choose Ambient as their charity cause.

We intend to monitor the amount of monies this programme raises. In 9-12 months’ time we plan to open a grant programme to allow staff to access funds to purchase treats, activities and  resources that bring a wealth of smiles to the faces of those we support.’”
