Sian said: “There were 10 of us that took part and we ended up walking for 12.5 miles! We were delighted to be joined by one of our amazing residents Audrey, who is in her 80’s, who walked a whopping 8 miles alongside her daughter Heather. We were also joined by Jade – one of our Senior Carers – who brought along her 7 year old daughter Evie, who did brilliantly and walked for 8 miles. I was delighted to be accompanied by my daughter Elsie-Louise, 13, who completed the entire walk with me. I cannot thank everyone enough for taking part and for the very generous donations. Every step we take brings our closer to our target.”The event was captured by George Salisbury, son of organiser Louise, who took some stunning photos as the team walked the Welwyn Garden City centenary.Louise added: “It was super tough going, but I can honestly say we all had a blast and kept each other going when we wanted to give up. It was a great team building event and we look forward to the rest of our initiatives this summer to keep spirits lifted and reach our target.”St Audrey’s forms part of the Hatfield House Estate, a 19th Century Manor house with beautiful gardens.
