Two Ambient Team members announced as finalists in national award schemes

We are incredibly proud to have not one but two of our Ambient team members recognised this month, as finalists in two national award schemes: The Housing With Care Awards, and The Learning Disability and Autism Awards.

Sarah Hearne, a Locality Manager at Ambient Mental Health Services, is a finalist in the ‘Frontline Leader of the Year’ category in the Housing with Care Awards 2024. The category recognises “a senior member of staff who has shown a clear commitment to improving the delivery of care and support within their organisation, demonstrating leadership qualities by reflecting on what could be better and supporting others to bring about change.”

Sarah has worked impressively to support and encourage teams across our Mental Health services to engage with change and become advocates for change themselves. Sarah’s optimistic, reliable and resilient leadership has overseen a positive transformation of our Mental Health services and a continued high standard of quality of care. Sarah will sit before a panel of judges on 15th May and the winner will be announced on Friday 7th June.

Claire Wright, Service Lead, and the Individual Service Fund (ISF) team working in Bexley, are finalists in the Learning Disability and Autism Awards 2024 in the ‘Making a Difference’ category. The category recognises “a provider or person who has promoted inclusion and community cohesion through their work or role in the community, particularly where this has helped make a positive change happen
in people’s lives; someone who works creatively and passionately to ensure people with a learning disability have equal access and involvement in their community.”

Claire has been a driving force behind our personalised support approach, spearheading Ambient’s ISF offering in Bexley and supporting our Learning Disability services to deliver quality personalised care. She has also established a disco night within the local area for people with a learning disability, bringing together multiple charities and services to create a sense of inclusion, community and friendship. Judging for the ‘Making a Difference’ award takes place on the 23rd May, with winners announced in Birmingham on 21st June.

Ambient are thrilled to see the spotlight on members of our team, who thoroughly deserve it, for their dedication to positively impacting the lives of the people we support. Both Sarah and Claire’s achievements are gold medal standard, no matter the outcome of the awards.

All that’s left to do then is wish Sarah and Claire, and the rest of the amazing award finalists, the very best of luck!
